11 tours, 11 highlights: the art exhibition’s final programme focusses on the satellite stations, affording another excellent opportunity to visit the urban locations where various artistic joint ventures were developed. 

Manifesta 11 satellites – that’s the name given to the locations and settings within the city of Zurich in which the host partners of Manifesta artists pursue their regular professions and where the resulting works of art are now presented. In the context of the last 11 satellite tours, talks are held with some of the professionals involved, including a spa manager from Wipkingen, a boat maker from Wollishofen, a police officer and a transgender sex worker from Aussersihl and the director of the Funeral and Cemeteries Office from Hirslanden quarter.

With art mediation playing a pivotal role at every edition of the Manifesta biennial, help from Engagement Migros development fund has enabled new forms of interaction which will also take centre stage for the last 11 days of the exhibition. Performances, discussions, artist talks and another Family Day – visitors should make the most of the remaining 11 highlight events and enjoy contemporary art at its finest. In addition, the last 11 days also offer free entry to the Pavillon of Reflections on Lake Zurich for a chance to watch some of the Manifesta documentaries.

Since 11 June 2016, Manifesta 11 has been exploring “What People Do for Money: Some Joint Ventures”, exhibiting 250 works of contemporary art at its two main museum locations at Löwenbräukunst and Helmhaus as well as some 30 satellites throughout the city. The programme is completed by the floating Pavillon of Reflections on Lake Zurich with screenings of documentaries as well as the newly created artists’ guild at Cabaret Voltaire offering experimental performances.
